You got to hand it to Gattu, aka Abhishek Kapoor—persistence pays! After floundering as an actor in small Bollywood films in the mid-1990s, and making an unimpressive entry into direction with Aryan, he withstood the storms and tamed the tempests. He created a cult film, Rock On!!—which is the flavour of the season. It’s an idea that transformed into a movie almost naturally. Every a step ahead was effortless and uplifting. It is said that when you try a stuff of your own you will find yourself in heaven. It isn’t easy, sticking it out in the shadows of showbiz for over a decade, with nothing but your faith to show up for you. Gattu now has a hit film, and that could become his beacon to the big time.
